Brushstrokes of Empowerment: Women’s Day Art Festival
On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Farmer Council of West Bengal proudly hosted the “Brushstrokes of Empowerment” art festival on 8th March 2025 at the Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata. The event, led by Chairman Tapan Pramanik, celebrated the creativity and strength of women, featuring the work of 150 women artists from across the region.
The festival served as a platform to encourage and uplift women, providing them the space to showcase their artistic talents. The event was graced by esteemed guests including Gautam Mohan Chakraborty (Chairman, Academy of Fine Arts), Smt. Mala Roy (Member of Lok Sabha), Mr. Ashim Bose (MMIC, W.B.U.E.S), Smt. Chaitali Basu (Teacher), Prof. Naba Kishore Chanda (Principal, Vivekananda College), and Smt. Saswati Dutta (Educationist).
This celebration of art and empowerment highlighted the powerful voice of women through creative expression.
Farmer Council & Bankura District Unite for Rural Welfare and Development
The Farmer Council of West Bengal, India (FCOWBI), under the leadership of Chairman Tapan Pramanik, Vice Chairman Aktarujjaman Molla, and Secretary Arunima Datta, conducted a significant training program at Saltora, Bankura, to strengthen rural development efforts.
The event aimed to empower Gram Panchayat (GP) Coordinators by training them for their responsibilities and guiding them in implementing development initiatives effectively. The team from FCOWBI held a productive meeting with Bankura’s GP Coordinators, discussing the scope of rural upliftment, employment generation, and community welfare programs.
This collaboration marks a step forward in bridging gaps between rural administration and community-based efforts, ensuring smoother execution of welfare schemes across Bankura.
